Osborne Clarke announces headline sponsorship of Venturefest 2017

International legal practice Osborne Clarke has signed up as headline sponsor of Venturefest 2017, a programme of events delivered by investment agency Invest Bristol & Bath.

This year’s Venturefest Bristol & Bath focuses on smart cities, and runs from February until October. Promoting the South West’s reputation as a global leader in smart city-related innovation with the aim of attracting investment and jobs to the area, the Venturefest series will explore five key areas including smart energy, intelligent transport, smart living and smart money.

Venturefest officially launched on Friday, 3 February at University of West England’s Future Space. The launch event brought together over 400 industry leaders from across the world, including a delegation from India, to hear from leading global brands including MasterCard, Nokia and Ordnance Survey on the major trends in smart city technology and the future global market opportunities this presents.

Osborne Clarke’s involvement in Venturefest follows its research initiatives around smart cities and the connected consumer. Its most recent report, ‘The European connected consumer: a life lived online‘ identifies consumer trends and the associated business and legal challenges in relation to smart technology.
