Osborne Clarke joins Data City | Data Nation programme

Osborne Clarke is partnering with Digital Catapult on a new programme that aims to accelerate the development of new products and services for public bodies and businesses operating in London and Singapore.

*Data City | Data Nation* is a global data sharing initiative between London and Singapore which brings together data scientists, developers and innovators to develop smart solutions to real-life challenges, using a combination of live open, closed, and proprietary data provided by telcos, retailers, health providers, security firms and local government. Entry is open to innovators from around the world, from start-ups to teams within large companies.

The programme is a collaboration between the Digital Catapult and the Singaporean social enterprise and technology company Newton Circus.

Each month, participants will be challenged to come up with data-driven technology solutions to urban development challenges linked to specific themes including mobility, healthcare, construction, population and security. After each challenge launch they will have two weeks to submit a one-page pitch explaining their solution to the challenge, and these submissions will be judged by a panel made up of representatives from Osborne Clarke, the Digital Catapult, the data providers, and third-parties such as venture capitalists.

Shortlisted entrants will then be invited to pitch their ideas to the panel at an event at the Digital Catapult Centre, where the winners will be selected and announced.

Winning participants will receive a sponsor-funded cash prize and access to the Digital Catapult Centre London for hot desks and meeting space, along with mentoring and support.

As well as contributing expertise to each Data City | Data Nation judging panel, Osborne Clarke will host the Safety and Security challenge at our offices in London Wall. As part of our involvement, we will also publicise key innovations from the programme on our Smart Cities and Connected Consumer hubs, and through our social media channels.
